Two prompts for an online writing competition I'm participating in. It's not a "real" competition, just something hosted on a website that I write for. I love these sorts of "friendly" competitions because it really gives you a chance to see how you're improving. The prize for winning is usually some fanart or a heavy critique of some other stuff you've written, which is really awesome. It is impossible to have lived in any part of Colcord and not have heard of the infamous Karoline Miraille, the so-called “Demon Councilwoman”. She was an icon amongst most students for her prowess in terms of law and politics. Her fame all stemmed from her career working in the intel with the police force, the Silver Brigade, although she retired from that route many years ago. Despite all this, her legacy did not come without a fair share of back-alley rumours. People say that the High Councillor of Colcord had a history with criminals and gang members in her adolescent years, which is one of the main reasons for her success in the Silver Brigade. Councillor Miraille, of course, denied these claims, saying that the Council of Ten would never have accepted her with such a background.

Most fashion analysts in the Commercial District would describe Karoline’s style as “classy, refined and elegant”. Experiences of last-minute business meetings and unexpected conferences have taught the High Councillor one thing: to look your best at every waking hour of the day. Karoline usually sticks to dark, neutral colours, adding splashes of colour in her jewelry, shoes or other accessories. Her hair, which is a beautiful shade of dark honey blonde, is usually left down. It reaches her shoulders and is softly curled. Her eyes are a rich azure shade.

Although her appearance in public may portray Karoline as a person who is kind, charismatic and straightforward, that is all just a mask she cleverly crafted up to hide her inner self. As a young girl, Karoline Roan was physically abused by her alcoholic father and her mother who suffered from anger management issues. In a desperate attempt to redeem herself, Karoline fled her household in the 3rd District slums and escaped to an orphanage. In the modest school of Lethenthum Academy, she proved herself to be a diligent scholar, although not much of a socialite. When she was 16, she was able to obtain a scholarship to the esteemed Ferryrion University, where she remained until seeking out her first job with the Silver Brigade.
Karoline married Stephen Miraille when she was only 23 and still working with the Silver Brigade. In the next three years, she gave birth to her only son, Felix Andrew Miraille. Lol. I need to get twitter - but screw that, I'm too busy playing 358/2! You know how I said that my friend was going to lend it to me? He gave it to me today and I've been playing it since lunchtime. I looove Organization XIII! Oh, let me tell you the reason I don't really have much love for Xion. When I first started playing Kingdom Hearts, I really loved it so I went to go search up some fanfiction for it. I went looking around for some popular pairings and I found SoKai first, obviously. Then, I happened upon some RokuNami fics which I absolutely LOVED. They're still my favourites today. Xion didn't really fit into the picture after that. And besides, what would her Somebody's name be? Ino? Oni? Noi? -__-
What sucks is that Namine isn't a very "important" character in the series. I feel like she doesn't get a lot of screen time, which isn't quite fair, especially for her character - I mean, she's Kairi's Nobody! Roxas gets his own GAME, for goodness' sakes! Also, she's such an interesting person. Her character has a lot of depth, in my opinion and I was quite upset that she doesn't play as big of a role as some other characters, who I don't think are as important.
Also, I have a lot of speculation as to why Xion was...created. Okay, maybe I'm not at much liberty to say ANYTHING about Xion because I'm not even past 1/100 of 358/2 Days yet, but from what I've heard, she's kind of...extra. I did the tiniest bit of researching and the first thing I saw about her character creation was HILARIOUS. One person's theory was that Xion was created in order to quell the AkuRoku pairing, which was becoming quite popular.
Wait. I actually think Axel and Roxas are qt -- as friends. You know. 'Cause I love Larxene and Axel...Doesn't it suck that they ALL DIE?! Not Axel - Larxene. WHYYYY D: She's such a bo$$ even though she's kind of mean... I read a one-shot from a collection of Larxel drabbles about her death. It was amazing.

I just had a total fangirl moment with one of my really close friends about Kingdom Hearts. It's one of my favourite games! He's lending me 358/2 Days on Thursday - the only game I haven't played! (Except for DDD, cause I don't have a 3DS, sadly :c)
Also - I feel very ashamed to say this, but since today, I have never played Pokemon Black/White. I know! For a self-proclaimed Pokenerd, that's pretty sad. Anyway, one of my OTHER friends lent me his Pokemon Black so I could train his pokes for him, and I LOVED BLACK. I just -- ugh. Emotional overload! C: It was sooo good. I loved it. I HAVE to get B/W2.
I was asked about the ships I have for KH and Pokemon today, and I thought I'd post them. Lol, I'm a really big fangirl...who loves fanfiction... omg I'm such a loser and I have no life. :( Anyways, on to the pairingssss! truth or dare?
Playing virtual truth or dare on (c) Facebook with my friends has never been so much funnn <3 To be honest, the game was the bane of my existence when I was little. I was so afraid that I would get dared to talk to my crush and stuff like that... xD Now, I'm pretty sure TorD is like one of the funniest games out there. Teehee~

My entire room smells like BBW's Sweet Pea. xD I had an accident with one of my fragrance mist bottles and it just got EVERYWHERE. It smells delicious, of course, but I have a feeling I'm going to smell like sweet peas for more than a few days. (Side note: I keep on spelling sweet pea as "sweat pea" and it makes me laugh everytime. Haha...sweat peas! xD)
I re-did my nails again, in OPI's Gone Gonzo! which is part of the Muppet's collection...I think. It's all nice and blue and sparkly and stuff C: Super awesome! Monday's my school's House Track Meet, and my house's colour is blue, so I decided to do my nails accordingly.

hybrid animals
Yesterday I got the coolest art assignment ever. It sounds like a ton of fun, and I'm sure that a better artist than me would start spewing out some awesome drawings. Trust me, I'm not a good artist at all. I can sort of paint and I can sort of draw - but usually, my stuff ends up looking like a bunch of scribbles and gloopies on paper. *sigh* ANYWAY, I've decided that I'm going to at least TRY to have some fun with this assignment. Hopefully the finished product won't look too shabby :)
OKAY. Here, I'll type out the assignment first.
ISA Term 1 - Independent Sketchbook Assignments
Each independent sketchbook assignment consists of the following two prts:
a) 8 THUMBNAIL SKETCHES to develop many variations to express your ides. They don't have to be perfectly rendered - just try to keep the creative ideas flowing.
b) ONE FINAL VERSION that is fully developed for your full page drawing treatment. This final drawing should have as much detail as possible to convey your ideas with clarity. Experiment with a variety of media.
SKETCHBOOK OPTIONS: Select 2 creative challenges from the list below for your sketchbook assignments this term.
I'm not going to list all of the options, so I'll just tell you what I chose. For the first one, I chose "Combine a plant and an animal to create a new hybrid life form" and "Create a structure/building that is suited to the particular landscape it is part of".
Sounds fun, no? I also got permission from my teacher to combine animals with in-animate objects. The first one is due in a few weeks, so I got started on that already. No, I'm not going to be posting any of my sketches cause they're just awful. I'll just post the notes that we're expected to write along with each of our creations.
#1 - Leaf + Butterfly. It has leaves for wings - not the most creative of ideas, but I put it down just 'cause I thought the idea was cool. These hybrid butterflies can only hatch from their cocoons in the spring. Their wings change with the season and they only have a life span of one year - come winter, their wings will wither away and the butterfly dies.
#2 - Branches + Cat. This idea is a bit underdeveloped. You know how people like to draw skeletons of animals and creatures? I was hoping for the design of this particular hybrid cat to be sort of the same thing, substituting bones for branches. And the branches are only going to make up the tail/legs. The cat will have dappled brown fur. These cats have very delicate limbs and usually stay in the canopies of larger trees in forests.
I'll post some more stuff later - gotta go eat something before I pass out from hunger.

apricot jam and late posts D:
Ugh. So I've been sick for the past few days (I still am, but I'm a lot better than before, trust me!) and haven't been able to post anything...yikes! There's this terrible bug going around - and it hasn't just reached my school. My friends from other schools are all sick, too! And my sister said that all of her friends have some type of cold/flu/sore throat/the works, too. Anyway, I'm just glad that I've been able to return to a semi-functional state. C:
On to my newest addiction: apricot jam. Okay, so it really isn't a "new" addiction, but today I realized that I like apricot jam more than I ever did before. It's just been a while since I've had REAL jam in a long time - my mom insisted on getting this low-sugar jam that was quite ... interesting ... so it came as a real surprise to me when she came home with ACTUAL JAM. YAY MOM! :D
Since I'm sick and all, I can't go around stuffing myself with food like I usually do ... which sucks. But! Since my throat is better today, I decided to have some tea and toast. Fun fact: I love my PBJs, but I've never been a strawberry jam kind of girl - APRICOT JAM FTW! So yeah. Milk tea + peanut butter and apricot jam toast = the best food I've had for 2 days. Seriously. I've been eating nothing but noodles and soup for the past two days, and for a fatty like me, it was nearly unbearable. Even though my mom makes some killer (asian) soups.
Here's some eye candy. I found it off of one of my favourite dessert/food/cake tumblr things. Yummy! And it fits in with the apricot jam theme :3
Last note - I'm writing for my school's magazine ... newspaper ... thing, and the theme for October is "Alter Ego". You know, getting into Halloween early and all that. Sounds really interesting, doesn't it? Yeah! It does! I want to do something interesting, not your typical "I have a twin" drabble or "Jekyll and Hyde" story. You know? I've got a few ideas stored up in my brain somewhere, but I'm still looking for a few. I'll probably post the thing once I end up writing it. Could be never. Sometimes I'm not satisfied with ideas and decide to scrap them before I write them.

My friend lent me her bottle of Sally Hansen - Deeply Violet and I did my nails with it just now. It's actually quite pretty, but maybe that's just because I've been practically addicted to shiny, dark colours for a while now. I'm not a nail expert so I can't give you a full, detailed post about the colour but it is really nice!
Also, I've been practically bawling my eyes out because of Clannad...I only managed to squish in like, one episode per two days this past week, so I'm still on episode 9. But ohmygosh, ep 8+9 are actually heart-wrenching. I'm not going to give any spoilers, though, don't worry.

reminders
*Remember to finish your writing*
I want to work on Glitched, The Institution, Exile, Remember, Ringmaster and Stems and Gears. Possibly Fireflower. That's a lot on my plate. Post Glitched character profiles. And work on the Institution plot. Exile needs some character details, too. Remember's currently a pile of nothing, but the idea's in my head. Put it on paper (or, well, on the computer, in any case). Ringmaster needs a lot of work too, as it's still in it's baby stages. Stems and Gears needs a huge character update and that needs to be posted too. Fireflower needs a rewrite.

Okay, so I just watched like 10 episodes of Clannad straight after realizing I had to finish my Latin homework ... and now I have the dango song stuck in my head. It's so cute, isn't it? I actually love the song to death. Clannad is one of my favourite anime/mangas (I haven't played the game) of all time. To be honest, I usually say that to about all the animes and mangas I read or watch, because I don't even bother looking into an anime/manga unless I'm really interested in it. High standards, much? xD
Anyways, I have a few animes on my waiting list to be watched. Personally, I like anime more than manga, although manga is just more convenient. You see, my laptop's not in the most pristine of conditions - which is a nice way of saying that it's really, really old and really, really slow. Naturally, it takes a lot more time for videos to buffer than it does to read manga.

just some more general info
Back again. I just wanted to add some more stuff pertaining to the blog. First of all, I don't know how to put up the blog description (HAH I'M STUPID, I KNOW! Dx) so I'm doing it now. This blog was mostly made to satisfy my longing for a blog, lol. Um. I love writing, so I'll probably be posting some random ficlets or whatever I have on my mind. Also, I love tumblr so I'll be posting a lot of stuff I find from there, too. Yes, I know you're probably going to say "Why don't you just make a tumblr account?", to which I'll respond, "Because I don't feel like it and I want something more ... personal?". That's why.
(Excuse my horrible grammar in the above paragraph! I'm too lazy to correct it... Tsk, tsk, what kind of a writer am I? My subconscious is raging at me now. ; __ ; )
My favourite tumblr is pokem0nfacts - the stuff is just so awesome/pretty/addicting/cutesy. Yes. I'm a Pokefreak, Pokenerd, whatever you want to call it. Yes, I'm a girl. Yes, I (sometimes) do competitive Pokemon and I do play Pokemon Online. No more prying, I feel uncomfortable leaking out all my life secrets as it is.
Right. About my writing. I write about anything and everything - my writing is cynical, sarcastic, moody, freaky, happy, sad, weird, random. I do dabble in writing RPs, but I quit that a long time ago. I don't write for any websites except for ones that I have emotional attachments to. <3
Also, I think I'm in love with Celebi and Jumpluff today. My favourite Pokemon will always be Umbreon and Dragonair, though. The picture below is not owned by me. I don't know where it's from, but it's damn awesome and I love it.

the beginning?
In the midst of doing my Latin homework, I found myself with a sudden urge to create a blog. Thirty minutes later, I finally managed to create something to my liking...kind of. I'm not very proficient with HTML, so I decided that coding my own website wouldn't be a great idea, so I turned to the templates. Now, I'm not degrading the templates for the blogs here or anything, but I have to say, the choices are rather...limited. You know? Anyways. That's it for now. Tata.
